“We are united behind the strongest candidate to defeat Joe Cunningham”
CHARLESTON, SC – A strong contingent of Republican women leaders in South Carolina’s Lowcountry, including the current President of the East Cooper Republican Club and a former longtime Beaufort County Councilwoman, announced their endorsements of Kathy Landing in South Carolina’s First Congressional District.
The local endorsements – by East Cooper Republican Club President Joanne Jones, former longtime Beaufort County Councilwoman Beth Grace, South Carolina Federation of Republican Women First District Director JoAnne Knapp, Greater Lowcountry Republican Club Secretary Nancy Leet, Charleston County Republican Women Treasurer Pat Ryan, Sea Island Republican Women’s Club Past President Emily Rudolph, Sea Island Republican Women’s Club Membership Chair Patsy Bailey, former South Carolina Federation of Republican Women President Charm Altman, former First Lady of Mount Pleasant Brooke Hallman, Republican state convention delegate Janet Zimmer, Charleston County Republican Precinct President Sherri Timmermann, Charleston County Republican leaders Barbara Spell and Anna Ebeling, and Berkeley County Republican leaders Ruth Lusk and Terri Hallman Chapman – are the most notable to date in the race for the Republican nomination to challenge Joe Cunningham this fall.
“We are united behind the strongest candidate to defeat Joe Cunningham, Kathy Landing,” said Jones. “We know that Kathy has the life experiences, education, business acumen and moral convictions to best represent our Lowcountry values in Congress and make us proud of our Member of Congress again.”
“Kathy Landing is the proven conservative leader we can trust to not only keep her word about fixing our broken healthcare system, improving our infrastructure, and keeping our nation safe but also to utilize her decades as a successful businesswoman to restore fiscal sanity in Washington and work with President Trump to keep our economy strong,” Spell added.
Honored by the endorsements, Landing stressed the importance of Republicans united to win back the District.
“From Day One, my campaign has focused on meeting with neighbors from Moncks Corner to Bluffton, listening to their input and concerns, and ensuring the issues our families care about are the ones Congress actually works toward solving,” said Landing. “We are all tired of the Washington Swamp’s out-of-control conspiracies, impeachment fiascos, and gridlock. We want solutions and action. To get there, we must be unified in winning back this seat. That is why I am so honored to have the unified endorsements of such strong Republican women leaders and will continue to build the team and have the resources to be successful on Election Day.”
