Tuesday, April 7, 2020

CHARLESTON, SC – Conservative Republican candidate for Congress Kathy Landing today launched a new television ad districtwide in the race for South Carolina’s First Congressional District.

Landing, who was the first candidate in SC1 to launch a television ad earlier this cycle, shares some of her personal story in the current spot entitled “Two Choices.” Landing discusses the decision she made after her parents died, when she was only 13 years old, and shares insight into her life experiences of entering Duke University at 16 years old, her work as a job-creating financial planner, her public service, and her strong faith.

In announcing the television campaign, Landing hoped the ad would offer encouragement in these tough times.

“America, our state, and our community are in very difficult times right now. I am hopeful that sharing my story will give encouragement to some, while also providing our Lowcountry neighbors a better understanding of the experiences, passion, and commitment I offer them.”

The full content of the ad is as follows:

Landing: “My dad passed away when I was 12. A year later, my mom died.”

Voiceover: “Orphaned at 13, Kathy Landing had two choices.”

Landing: “I could have let this tragedy stop me. But, through faith and hard work, I chose to live a life my parents would be proud of.”

Voiceover: “That's the outlook that drives Kathy Landing. College at 16. Job-creator. Community leader. Conservative woman of faith.”

Landing: “I hope the Lowcountry sees me as someone who understands life's challenges and will make them proud in Congress.
